We're thrilled to be opening our doors to the public for FREE as part of the Open House Festival on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September.


Our engine won't be running, but you can still explore our incredible space, savour our Grade II Listed architecture and take a self-guided tour on our No.7 engine.


Guided tours will be available but are subject to availability on the day.  


There is no need to book a ticket - just turn up on the day!



Please note: all access to the Lady Bessie Prescott engine requires climbing steep stairs and due to historic railings, only those over the height of 1.4m (4' 7") are allowed to ascend the engine.

The museum is an industrial environment containing moving machinery, steep stairs and hard surfaces. Children must remain supervised at all times.



We have an access lift which enables step free access from the ground to the main museum floor.
