Saturday 14th March 2026

Step into an evening of classic jazz and steam as we kick off our 2026 events programme in true glad-rags style.
Sip a drink and soak up the atmosphere inside our spectacular Grade II* Listed Scheduled Monument engine house, as a live jazz bands fills the space with iconic tunes from the 1920s and 30s.

Alongside the live jazz, you’ll experience the sights and sounds of our remarkable Sir William Prescott engine – the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine, and a true feat of engineering!
A pay bar will be open throughout the evening, serving alcoholic and soft drinks, tea and coffee, plus light snacks.
